Vote for the Human Impacts Institute today to help us win a Solar Generator for EcoWorkshops!
Help the Human Impacts Institute (HII) win a solar power generator for eco-workshops in East River State Park in Brooklyn!
Vote for HII in Green Mountain Energy’s Vote Solar For Good non-profit challenge. If we receive the most votes, we’ll win $1,500 worth of solar energy equipment to reduce our environmental impact and do even more good in our community.
Voting is easy. Visit this facebook page and share before October 31st to cast your vote.
The solar generator will be housed with our partners at East River State Park–a Brooklyn park with hundreds-of-thousands of visitors per year–and will power free public events, eco film screenings, and community workshops on environment and social justice issues, such as: green space stewardship, energy efficiency, water pollution, green cleaning, and consumer choice. As the park does not have electricity, the generator will be available for both HII workshops and events with other community partners.
Thanks for your support!

More about the Human Impacts Institute
The Human Impacts Institute’s (HII) mission is to inspire engagement and action in environmental issues and healthy community development through hands-on education, creative outreach, and coalition building. In 2011, HII provided over 250 hours of education and outreach programs —reaching over 14,000 people in NYC and other communities. The Human Impacts Institute works with East River State Park to bring free environmental education programs to community members and visitors of North Brooklyn. As the park does not have electricity, the generator will be available for both HII workshops and events with other community partners.
