Green Holiday Soiree: A Smashing Hit!

December 20, 2012

Last week, on December 11th, Human Impacts Institute had its Human Impacts Institute Green Holiday Soiree.  The event took place at the amazing eco general store/ caféSustainable NYC in the East Village. The Soiree was a huge success filled with good company, delicious organic drinks, our education program art from NYC students on display, and eco-holiday games, all with in the amazing, environmentally friendly ambiance of Sustainable NYC that HII values so much!

Sustainable NYC was 2011 Green America People’s Choice Award winner. It is located at Ave. A and 9th St. All products in Sustainable NYC are either local, organic, recycled, fair trade, or environmentally friendly and range in anything from fashionable vegan shoes to organic beauty products! It was the perfect venue for HII’s event. We want give a BIG thank you to Sustainable NYC and all of their helpful and friendly staff for letting HII use their wonderful venue!

All of the HII crew had a big hand in making the Human Impacts Institute Green Holiday Soiree possible.  HII would like to give special thanks to

-Dominique Camacho, owner of Sustainable NYC, for opening her store to us and for her generous wine donation

-DJ Shiran Nicholson for providing the event’s great music

-Affinity Cycles for their bike helmet and bike tune-up raffle prize donation

-Blue Angel Wines, for their organic wine bottle raffle prize donation

-Brooklyn Winery, for their raffle prize donation of 2 wine growlers

-Lighthouse of Williamsburg for their gift certificate donation to our raffle

-Roundabout Theater Company for their donation of 2 tickets to a Broadway show, The Mystery of Edwin Dood

All of these donations were a part of our raffle prize give away! Many of our event’s guests took home these amazing gifts from local businesses!

Human Impacts Institute wants to thank all who participated and all who attended the Soiree! It has been another amazing year for HII! Happy Holidays and watch for us in 2013!
