They are living there from generation to generation and they have knowledge of how to protect their forest and how to protect their climate and their environment.
তারা প্রজন্ম থেকে প্রজন্ম ধরে ওখানে বসবাস করছে । তারা জানে কিভাবে তাদের জলবায়ু ও পরিবেশকে রক্ষা করতে হয়।
Lipi's Call to Action
We need to listen to Indigenous peoples, to understand them and what they want, not what we want for them. We talk about them as if they are vulnerable people who need climate justice. It's not justice they need. It's their rights that they need.
আমাদের আদিবাসীদের কথা শুনতে হবে। তাদেরকে বুঝতে হবে। আমরা তাদের কাছ থেকে কি চাই তা নয় বরং তারা কি চায় তা জানতে হবে। তাদের সম্পর্কে আমরা এমনভাবে কথা বলি যেনো তারা দূর্বল জনগোষ্ঠী যাদের জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন জনিত ন্যায় বিচার প্রয়োজন। তাদের বিচার নয়, প্রয়োজন অধিকারের বাস্তবায়ন।
