The Human Impacts Institute is a corporation as defined in subparagraph (a)(5) of Section 102 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law and shall be a Type B corporation under Section 201 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law. The Human Impacts Institute was formed for the purpose of fostering sustainable human impacts on ecosystems through community engagement, leadership, collaboration, knowledge-building and creative expression.

 

Privacy Policy

 

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Human Impacts Institute collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the http://www.humanimpactsinstitute.org website ("Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Human Impacts Institute.

 

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, register on the site, place an order, subscribe to the newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, credit card information. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Proprietary Rights

The Human Impacts Institute’s materials are protected by copyright. We own all rights, title and interest in and to the Site, all the content (including, for example, text, photos, illustrations, graphics, videos, audio, software, files, code, date and materials thereon), the look and feel, design and organization of the website, the compilation of the content, code, data and materials on the Site, including but not limited to any copyrights, trademark rights, patent rights, database rights, and other intellectual property and proprietary rights therein. Use of the Site does not grant to you ownership of any content, code, data or materials you may access on or through the Site.

 

Content Sharing Agreement

Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflicts of law provisions.

 

Miscellaneous

These Terms of Use contain the entire terms between the parties. In the event any provision of these Terms of Use is held to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable, then such provision shall be severed from these Terms of Use while the remaining terms shall remain binding on the parties hereto. The Human Impacts Institute's failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of the Terms of Use shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. You agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim or cause of action brought by you arising out of or related to the use of the Services, or specified in these Terms of Use, must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose, or shall be forever barred.
