Rousseau intertwines human figures with natural elements, using motifs like floral patterns, branching roots, and tree forms to explore themes of personal growth, contemplation, and our intrinsic connection to the environment.

 

The artwork aims to highlight the concept of "sustainable coexistence," emphasizing the balanced relationship between humanity and nature. By fostering awareness of our shared responsibility in environmental stewardship, the series seeks to inspire action toward resolving the current climate crisis and building a sustainable future for generations to come.

 

Reginald Rousseau is a Haiti-born, Harlem-raised contemporary folkloric artist based in New York. He studied Studio Arts at the City College of New York while pursuing an Architectural Design degree. In 2018, he founded and currently operates Reginald Rousseau Arts in Harlem, NY.
