Morphic Mimicry explores embodied biomimicry as a way of rethinking human relationships with the natural world. Filmed in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, the work follows freediving dancers as they imitate the movement of jellyfish, one of Earth’s oldest living organisms. Through breath, pressure, and physical limitation, the performers engage directly with the marine environment, revealing both human fragility and the intelligence of natural systems. The work invites viewers to consider nature not as something separate, but as a collaborator, suggesting that collective human action can be informed by the rhythms and cooperation found in ecological life.
