Swamp Sunflower Spirit, Disperse and Preserve, 2012 Woodblock Print on Linen

Jacoub Reyes.

These artworks represent the intricate relationship between native plant species and their natural habitats. Additionally, the inclusion of a piece inspired by the Shinnecock Kelp Farmers underscores the urgent need for indigenous-led solutions to combat climate change and preserve ancestral lands. Through their use of eco-friendly materials and collaborative approaches, the artist seeks to inspire others to explore innovative methods of repurposing resources.

By highlighting the destructive impacts of invasive species and land development, the artworks serve as a call to action for viewers to embrace practices that prioritize ecological sustainability and community stewardship.

Jacoub Reyes is an interdisciplinary artist based in Central and South Florida, primarily working in printmaking and large-scale installation, utilizing experimental techniques to unravel a complex mixed-cultural heritage.
