Maya Ciarrocchi’s Desire Lines and Wave Hill Dreams for Water trace the hidden histories embedded in landscapes. Through drawing, video, and performance, she explores migration, displacement, and environmental change. Desire Lines maps personal and communal movement, while Wave Hill Dreams for Water reflects on water as both a life-giving force and a witness to transformation.
Rooted in archival research and personal narratives, these works invite audiences to engage with landscapes as living records.
By mapping lost routes and fluid boundaries, Ciarrocchi reimagines spaces where the past and present merge, offering new ways to see and remember.
An interdisciplinary artist working across dance, theater, and visual media, Ciarrocchi has exhibited at the Bronx Museum, Smack Mellon, and Abrons Arts Center. She has held residencies at Wave Hill, MacDowell, and LMCC, among others.
