Good Grub, 2025

Culinary arts and performance

Fisch’s work challenges conventional ideas around food, particularly the concept of eating bugs as a sustainable source of nutrition. By creating visually stunning dishes, he aims to transform the perception of insects as food, making it both palatable and intriguing.

Good Grub  looks to spark curiosity and open conversations about alternative food sources, particularly the role insects could play in addressing sustainability and food security. Fisch’s work seeks to break social taboos and demonstrate that future food paradigms can be both innovative and enjoyable.

Samuel Ezra Fisch makes artwork focused on audience participation. In 2015, Fisch co-founded Fat City Arts, an artist co-op in Chicago. From 2017 through 2018, Fisch taught painting and sculpture at Central Oregon Community College. In 2018 Fisch co-founded Ground Level Platform, a Chicago based interactive art venue. Fisch has shown work in Brattleboro Museum, The Marin Museum Of Contemporary Art, and in various public sculpture programs including the Chicago Sculpture Exhibit.
